With Easter quickly approaching, I’m thrilled to share this straightforward recipe that promises to be a crowd-pleaser. This year, I’m taking charge of the dessert spread, and you can bet these Easter Marshmallow Eggs will be making an appearance alongside my beloved Chocolate Peanut Butter Eggs. It’s a guaranteed win-win: the kids will be overjoyed, and even the most discerning adults (who secretly wish they were still kids at heart) won’t have a single complaint. Everyone will be delighted by these charming, sweet confections.

Life can often present unexpected challenges, and sometimes, finding solace in simple joys, like the creation of something beautiful and delicious, can be incredibly therapeutic. This past year, like many, has brought its share of ups and downs, including a deeply personal loss that has touched my heart. My father’s wife, a truly special person who dedicated eight years of her life to him, especially through his illness, recently passed away after a quick battle with esophageal cancer. Her selflessness and unwavering care for him, without complaint, left an indelible mark on our family. I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to have said my goodbyes and to have thanked her for her immense kindness and love. In moments like these, connecting with loved ones and creating new memories, even through something as simple as baking, feels more important than ever. These marshmallow eggs, in their sweetness and charm, are a reminder of the enduring spirit of love and connection that holidays like Easter represent.

Crafting Your Perfect Chocolate Easter Eggs with Fluffy Filling
These simple, homemade marshmallow eggs are simply too pretty and too cute to pass up. Who would have thought that making your own marshmallow treats could be so incredibly easy? The beauty of this recipe lies in its versatility. You can customize these chocolate Easter eggs by using your favorite type of chocolate – whether it’s classic milk chocolate for a creamy texture, rich dark chocolate for a more intense flavor, or even vibrant white chocolate to serve as a colorful canvas for decorations. No matter your choice, the result will be undeniably amazing and far superior to any store-bought alternative.

For years, despite being a dedicated food blogger, I had never ventured into making homemade marshmallow desserts. It’s almost embarrassing to admit after 13 years! But the idea of crafting soft, pillowy marshmallow creations in a festive Easter egg shape, enrobed in a smooth, melted chocolate almond bark, finally won me over. And now that I’ve tried it, I can confidently say this is a dessert I can wholeheartedly endorse, and I’m sure you’ll all agree once you taste them. The rich chocolate exterior perfectly complements the creamy, fluffy marshmallow filling, creating a heavenly combination that will make it hard to ever go back to store-bought versions. I’m in serious trouble – the deliciousness is truly addictive!

Tips and Tricks for Perfect Easter Marshmallow Eggs
Achieving perfectly coated, fluffy marshmallow eggs is simpler than you might think, especially with a few handy tips. These suggestions will help ensure your homemade marshmallow eggs turn out beautifully every time, ready to delight everyone on your Easter dessert table or from their Easter baskets.
- Storage Savvy: To keep your finished marshmallow eggs fresh and delicious, store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will maintain their delightful texture and flavor for up to 3 days. This also makes them excellent for preparing a day or two in advance of your Easter festivities.
- Chocolate Your Way: While the recipe calls for chocolate almond bark, feel free to personalize the coating to your taste. You can use all white chocolate for a bright, festive look, all milk chocolate for a classic, sweet flavor, or even dark chocolate for a richer, more sophisticated profile. Experiment with different types to find your favorite!
- Almond Bark vs. Chocolate Chips: It’s crucial to use almond bark or candy melts for the coating rather than standard chocolate chips. Chocolate chips are formulated differently and typically do not melt as smoothly or set as firmly, which can result in a thick, clumpy coating that doesn’t hold its shape well. Melting discs or high-quality couverture chocolate are also excellent alternatives that will give you that desirable glossy finish.
- Creative Color Play: Don’t be shy about adding a splash of color! You can easily incorporate a few drops of food coloring into your marshmallow mixture to create pastel-hued fillings that are even more festive and surprising when the eggs are bitten into. Gel food coloring works best for vibrant, consistent colors without altering the texture.
- Silicone Mold Mastery: When coating your silicone egg molds with chocolate, make sure to spread an even layer, ensuring it covers all edges. This creates a sturdy shell for your fluffy marshmallow filling. Chilling the molds briefly after the initial chocolate coat helps it set quickly and creates a crisp chocolate shell.

Pin Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 7 ounce jar marshmallow fluff
- 6 tablespoons salted butter softened
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup each colored candy melts yellow, pink, blue (for drizzle)
- 1 pound chocolate almond bark divided
- 16 count silicone egg molds
Instructions
-
In a mixing bowl, using a stand mixer or hand mixer, combine the marshmallow fluff, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until well-combined and smooth. Set aside.
-
In 3 separate microwave-safe mixing bowls, melt each color of candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth.
-
Carefully drizzle each color of melted candy melts into the silicone egg molds to create decorative patterns. Let set for a few minutes.
-
In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt half of the chocolate almond bark in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and creamy.
-
Spoon the melted chocolate almond bark into each silicone egg mold. Using the back of the spoon or a small brush, spread the chocolate evenly around the bottom and up the sides of the mold to create a shell.
-
Invert the molds onto a cooling rack placed over parchment paper to allow any excess chocolate to drip off. Let the chocolate shells set completely (this can be done at room temperature or by placing them in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes).
-
Once the chocolate shells are set, divide the prepared marshmallow mixture evenly among the egg molds, filling each shell without overfilling.
-
Melt the remaining chocolate almond bark until smooth. Carefully spoon this melted chocolate over the marshmallow filling in each mold, spreading it to seal the bottom of the eggs.
-
Allow the eggs to set completely. You can leave them at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes until firm.
-
Once set, carefully unmold the Easter Marshmallow Eggs from the silicone molds.
-
Serve your beautiful homemade marshmallow eggs and enjoy!
